Merriweather Capital is a privately owned investment company that deploys its own capital into private equity, real estate, infrastructure, financial services, and alternative investments.
Because we invest our own capital rather than capital raised from outside limited partners, we're able to act with the discipline and patience of a long-term owner. We work directly with business owners, entrepreneurs, and accredited and institutional investors evaluating Merriweather as a capital partner.
How the firm is governed
Investment Committee oversight
Every investment — and every material follow-on decision — is reviewed and approved by our Investment Committee under defined authority levels. No single individual can commit the firm's capital.
Independent advisors
We engage independent legal, tax, audit, and technical advisors on each transaction, and our corporate affairs are maintained to institutional standards of record-keeping and review.
Compliance and integrity
We conduct our activities in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, including know-your-counterparty and anti-money-laundering standards, and we decline opportunities that do not meet them.
Conflict management
Potential conflicts of interest are identified, disclosed, and managed under a formal policy, so that every decision is made in the interest of the long-term health of the firm and its partners.
